I would bet there is a better chance of Larry coming back to ISU than Tim and either one of them are such slim chances that you'd be more likely to win the powerball tonight than it happening.
Ooooh! What's the powerball at tonight? IF I win, I'll buy out GMac's $4.5mil....and help pay for the Endzone in football while we are at it.

Re: Floyd
The coach doesn't take on his old sanctions from other schools. This is a flawed system but it is how it works. We really can't be punished for any of the O.J. Mayo stuff. See Jon Callaperi....
fwiw-i would take Eustachy back as well.

Re: Floyd
Fred Hoiberg....Ames boy, ISU legend and i would love to see him coach on the fly as opposed to coach mcdermotts debacle in his 4 years

Re: Floyd
IF we are looking for a coach, my concerns with Floyd would not be him using us as a stepping stone...as he'd have to win to get a better offer (well, I'd hope - Gene didn't need to).
I'd be concerned a bit about his past at USC and what level of integrity he'd bring to this program. I never heard of issues when he was at ISU before and I can see how USC corrupted Floyd more than the other way around. But, the concern is still there and I'd have to think the NCAA would be looking a bit closer at us with him here.
There is also the issue of bringing back the prodigal son and if he doesn't win you're in a "now what" situation.
Lots of upside potential there though. He's shown he can both recruit and coach at the highest level.

I really think Tim should be sought after since he has once already came back to the college game at USC.....and now has a Assistant gig in the NBA. He could be looking for a HC job. Thus, I believe that an offer from a familiar place would be a great job and something to think about for him. ALso, I would like to think that he would find it comforting that a fanbase like ours would still back him at this moment in time. And we would.....

No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference. ~Tommy Lasorda

Re: Floyd
The main thing here....even in dreaming that he might even come back......our AD needs to be looking at potential candidates to replace GMac right now. Yes, keep note that we could turn the program around......but also think....that when he fails....you were ready for a big hire to fix this mess.

Yeah screw floyd....we had hinrich on lock down till he left and told roy to go after him. I went to basketball camp 3 years in a row and Kirk constantly talked bout how drastic of a change it would take for him not to go to ISU. Thanks Tim you DBag

Re: Floyd
Tinsley owned Heinrich. I am glad we had 2 years of JT instead of 4 with KH.

Re: Floyd
No way Tim Floyd is ever coming back to Ames. Do people forget that Larry Eustachy is his best friend and ISU fired him? Floyd is also a southerner and is not a fan at all of the weather in Iowa.

Re: Floyd
The question isn't how much would it take to get Floyd to come back to Ames, it's how much would Floyd pay ISU to get back into coaching? I would have to say Floyd would have to pay us a pretty good amount in order to coach here again. At a minimum we should establish an escrow account or something like that to help pay for the inevitable fines, penalties, and scholarship losses from NCAA infractions that Timmy would get us wrapped up in.
