You're right but I don't know if he even gets drafted right now. I mean if I am running a team, this is exactly the guy that could be a decent player or he could be adam morrison. The thing that really gives me problems as a GM is the fact that I have no idea where to put him. He is a forward size but he plays like a 4 man. He just isn't big enough to play the 4 IMO. What happens when he has to guard a Lamar Odom inside or when he has to go out to guard a Rashard Lewis? I love the kid, don't get me wrong, but I don't think I would draft him.

Garrett, Colvin, Ejim, Brackins, Ham
I just don't think Brackins is leaving as of right now. I look around and there are a ton of guys that are jumping him in the draft because he has not performed all that well. Combine that with the fact that he really doesn't project at a position real well right now and I think another year would be in his best interest. I think he would have been better off leaving last year, but hindsight is 20/20. There is still time for him to bump himself up but he better get on it.
i think scotty and phillips will have strong cases to start next year too though
Re: Even Melvin Ejim is getting in on the
Triva question - Anyone here sure of the correct pronunciation of Melvin's last name is it EE-jim ?

Edge-'em
Re: Even Melvin Ejim is getting in on the
Philips starts from day 1 next season.
And as a poster writes above, Melvin's last name is pronounced EE-Jim, at least that's how Chris Williams says it.
Re: Even Melvin Ejim is getting in on the
I am not sure I know how to say Jiri Jubalek or Marquez Gilstraps names right.
Re: Even Melvin Ejim is getting in on the
Cant wait to see Melvin Play
Re: Even Melvin Ejim is getting in on the
I really like how blunt he was. Really seems like a straight shooter, hopefully he brings some spark and hustle to the team next year.

Not trying to open a can of worms but why did you feel the need to include the race card? Ever seen David Lee play? Don't get much more athletic than that. Are you saying if Adam Morrison was black he would be a better player? Ignorant. I hate when people think they are making a point by including someone's skin color as a basis of their ability. This isn't 1960 anymore.

I thought this was common knowledge.
I remember one of my Psych classes at ISU they did a study where they showed subjects a stat line for a player. They then told some subjects the player was black, others they told the player was white.
If I remember correctly, those who were told he was black attributed his ability to being athletic and dominant. The people who thought the player was white described him as better basketball sense and made smart decisions.
I chuckle when I read about Tinsley and Fizer as being so athletic and dominant on this board and then others who say Peterson wasn't athletic enough to compete in the Big 12 but he played basketball intelligently. Not that it isn't true, it just fits the study so perfectly.
Re: Even Melvin Ejim is getting in on the
Alright guys, I cant wait for ejim to get here also, but he is going to be a freshmen and will not impact right away. When you think of Buckley, Colvin and Garrett what did they do their first year after everyone talked them up? Absolutely nothing. I cant wait for Ejim to get here but it will take him 2 years to start making an impact. Next year is going to be horrendous for ISU basketball as we lose Gilstrap, Brackins, luca is gone and the rate Iowa State is losing players who knows who else might be gone after the season. Its not looking bright in ames for ISU bball.

I don't think that is right. Will Barton and CJ Fair dominate the ball and get the majority of the shots. Heck I'm not even sure Ejim is starting all the games, as you say they are loaded. Melvin is a captain of the team though.
Will Barton was recently named as 1 of 9 players to the USA junior team with Harrison Barnes for the Nike Global Summit. I am holding out hope that Ejim would be picked as part of the World team since he's from Canada, but its likely Tristan Thompson would has a better shot.
