I see that ISU recruit Wesley Staten was benched for 'a coach's decision' in Sioux City West's 39-30 loss to Elk Point Jefferson. Staten finished with 3 points.

Word is Staten walked out of the gym in the 3rd quarter.

Can anyone confirm?

Unfortunately, this is not the first less than flattering story about Staten.

Given the recent player retention issues...Does Mac need to reconsider this offer at some point?

I would guess most of the current MBB team is frustrated with their team...but 'most' don't walk out on them.

Wow. Yeah, that's just the kind of kid we need to bring into our program...especially in light of all the "locker room drama" we apparently are experiencing right now. Wow.

While we don't know if Staten walked out on his team, the idea of it is very concerning. I can easily see how it would look like bringing on more drama when we've had plenty already.

Seems clear Colvin created a host of lockerroom drama to get suspended. Hopefully he's learned that lesson.

I am in no way saying we should bolt from Staten, but to not be concerned at all about a kid that throws a fit when the going gets tough? Especially when he's coming to a program that already has at least one of those players and is going through a very rough patch for the program?

So what you're saying is he's the type that when things start to go bad, he shuts down and gets an attitude? Like he's entitled to always be on top, and if he isn't, it's his teammates' fault?
