FYI - This coach at one time worked under Tim Floyd, I'm pretty sure he got it from him.
There is a lot to be said about your findings. I agree with you. I mean, you can see the lack of discipline our team currently represents during the game - yelling at each other after an opponet made basket...etc.... This season has been horrible, and something needs to be changed.
Maybe take the warm-ups a bit more seriously, and have the coach get on his guys a TON more. Can't hurt. Or else we will be looking at another barely .500+ or under .500 season again. At that point, I will be done with this guy at ISU.

At that point, I will be done with this guy at ISU. I agree. I will also add that I remember alot of complaints during the Morgan era of how undisciplined those teams seemed to be and how they seemed to be lacking in basic fundamentals. When Gmac was brought in, it was said that discipline and fundamentals would again take focus with ISU basketball. Boy, were they wrong.
One thing is for certain, this team has not responded to Gmac's current methods so yeah I would like to see some kind of change with his approach. If nothing else it makes it look like he is at least trying something to get this team playing up to their potential. That's all I ask. CB having only one rebound against Kansas speaks volumes. Something needs to change.

Something needs to change. Speaks volumes about Brackins, it really doesnt reflect much of GMac. When it is game time it is on the player to hustle for boards. Do you really think cb needs more help from gmac to learn how to rebound?

I noticed that Kansas did it but maybe there is a distinction between the early warm ups and the final one just before the game starts.

Re: Pre-Game Warm Ups: It matters!
Yes, it is a technical foul to dunk during warmups. Don't know that I've ever seen it called however.
have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.
So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough? -

I just figured you would understand. IMO- mac changed after WJ left and started to be nicey nice with the players not trying to hurt their feelings. I think since the colvin incident he has changed back toward what he was before and i like that. I think he has found, with the Lucca incident, that even if you are nicey nice, these kids can screw you. so why not coach the way he wants.

Re: Pre-Game Warm Ups: It matters!
Everybody in the Big12 warms up this way these days. If you dont believe me go really early and you will often see the other teams pretty much doing a dunk contest. I think the point of warm ups is just to get the guys loose and relaxed, no need for intense strict drills this isnt 1970.

Maybe not "send it in big fella!" type of dunks. But plenty of near attempts...and then only lay it in. Again...what's the purpose?
The do quite a bit of dunking prior to the refs on the floor.

Re: Pre-Game Warm Ups: It matters!
I was actually wondering the other day how we usually come out of the locker room late all the time at halftime and barely get a chance to shoot around if that contributes to how we seem to start flat in the first few minutes of the 2nd half.
