He was proven to have no recruiting skills. He failed to capitilize in any shape or form on the success of the Big 12 Championships.

He recruited Stinson/Blalock/Clark/Homan. That was the best team we have had in 10 years.

Really? The coach prior to LE was 123-109 in eight seasons. He had two winning conference seasons and 1 NIT appearance. Granted his last three seasons were losing (his last being 13-15). I certainly would not call that an utter disaster.

LE is 75-80 in his first five seasons, his last being 15-17. Exactly what has he improved over the previous coach?

ISU gave an extension to McDermott. Would you say everybody in ISU-land is happy with him?

So what? I'm fine with LE having a coaching job. I just don't understand the rationale for wanting him back at ISU.

Be honest...Morgan recruited those players and there is no guarantee how long they would have lasted under LE. LE would NEVER have allowed Stinson to act like he did during games.

I should have said "nearly" 10 years. Obviously the 2000 team was better. The 2001 team is debatable. At least the 2005 team won a tournament game (although I'd still take a conference championship over that).

Clearly no players wanted to come play for him. All of Wayne Morgan's best players must have known LE was going to get fired.

LE had a couple down years at the end, but I really believe things were about to turn around right after he got fired. WM's NIT team wouldve been a tourney team, under Eustachy.

Itll likely never happen, as stated above, because Geoffroy is prez, but if pollard\geoffroy made the offer, id say yes.

Even better would be if one day when JP moves on (and he probably will some day) for LE to take over and bring in WM as a recruiter again. WM was not a good head coach, but he sure as hell could recruit.

Yes, he won the Big 12 title and nearly went to the Final Four. I give him credit for that.

The next year, he won the Big 12 title, burned out the team , causing a loss to Baylor (who was not good at that time) in ISU's first game of the Big 12 tourney, and followed that up with arguably the most embarrassing loss in ISU MBB history. He gets credit for that too.

But that isn't really the issue here. The issue is what in LE's recent performance would justify bringing him back as the head coach. How do you answer that?

Yes it is a difference, but do you know that similar provisions were not at play in LE's contract extension?

Problem is that's it's a huge leap of faith to assume Morgans recruits flourish playing under LE.

I can't believe anyone would think Hampton would win that game every single time if they met no matter where. That's not even logical. I'm sorry and yeah, my entire career/job/degree is rooted in logic and I can tell you that this is one of the most illogical things I've seen in awhile.
