Would Iowa State be the best job availabe...
this offseason if Mac somehow got fired. I know Depaul fired their coach, but i think we are the better job. If you look at this list of coaches on the hot seat, it appears that we would be the best job. Thoughts? CollegeSportsInfo.com: 2010 College Basketball Coaching Hotseat -

I haven't played the closest attention to what's going on, but isn't there something brewing at Uconn? I know the coach has been suspended for like 5 games now. If that's open it'd be better than an ISU opening that isn't going to happen regardless.

Out of that list I would say we have to be near the top considering the confrence we are in, and our history compared to the other programs on the list. Oregon and or Iowa is probably comparable.

In the end that could force him to retire, suspension no though.

Oregon is pretty good job too. We won't pay the money to buy out McD though so it's not even gonna matter.

Um where did you find this site???? Jim Calhoun has 2 national titles not 4. So I would probably disregard anything you learned from that site.

Oregon is a very good job. They're opening up a new $200 million arena next year, which I'd imagine would be a great thing to have in recruiting. They've had some success recently (a couple Elite 8's this decade), and that conference is completely up-for-grabs, so I think a good coach could come in and have quite a bit of success fairly quickly there.

A lot more jobs will open up than you think
I'll take a Jack & Hilton -
Re: Would Iowa State be the best job availabe...
In order I would say it goes:
1-Oregon
2a-Iowa
2b-ISU
I give Iowa the nod because they pay more (see Lickliter's salary versus GMac's) and they have more history of success than we do.
Yep, this thread has just been pwned. -
Re: Would Iowa State be the best job availabe...
It'd be interesting because we do have a brand new practice facility and Hilton is one of better places to play in. The only question is would we have enough money to get some of the top coaches available if/when this happens.
