He is intense. Late in the second half after they put us on the line and he called timeout he absolutely torn into one of his players. I think the players have a lot of respect for him and when he rips into them they know it is in an effort to make them better...they don't take it personally. He is also quick to give a praise for doing something right. He is a good basketball coach.

And here I thought ISU fans thought Frank Martin was an idiot coach that would flop in short order when Huggins left for WVU...but now he is some sort of prophet for empathizing with ISU?

This guy sees two lock wins a year against ISU if the status quo remains in Ames.

Maybe just maybe all these other big 12 coaches say they think Mac is a good coach, because they love how easy it is to beat him and they want him to stay lol

There's a lot of truth to that. Those guys don't want someone like Lon Kruger in Ames that's going to make their job tougher. They'd love it if coming to Hilton continued to be easy.

I've always liked Frank Martin, though. I don't discredit his statements and I thought it was real classy on his part to wear the pink shoes today.

That's exactly what is going on. If we were dominating these other programs I guarantee you opposing coaches wouldn't be throwing roses all over us while walking out of our gym with an L. Its a lot easier to be cordial and complimentary when you're leaving with a W against a program that can't protect its house.
