But look at the stability before with Tubby winning championships, final fours, etc.

Also makes. Big difference when you have more money than God. But nice try anyway.

That's ridiculous... the reason we are in a rebuilding mode constantly now has absolutely nothing to do with Orr, Floyd, Eustachy, or even Morgan at this point. Jesus people will say anything, no matter how asinine, to absolve Gmac of responsibility for his program.

Yes, I am all for successful instability rather than a stable bottom of the Big 12 program.

Stability is only good if you are winning!

Who are these "Jesus people?" I don't remember the bible ever brought into this discussion.
    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

Haha, forgot the comma. I should be more careful next time, holy wars have been started for less.

Re: we will get better in the coming seasons...

Here are some more coaches that our Ath. Dept. should be keeping an eye on: A Big 12 Job would be a big step for these guys. Especially when they see that even though we have been struggling - they can see that we put 13k butts in the seats and are loyal to BB at ISU. We want a winner....and they can look to a lot of success here from 2000-2005. It can be done, with that type of fan support.

    Assistants:

    1. Gib Arnold, USC
Has a serious basketball education. Was an assistant at Pepperdine under Paul Westphal, and is now the associate head coach under at SC....even under Tim Floyd. (Still an assistant there...Floyd could put in a good word for us.) Has lots of recruiting "ties" in the west. His father, Frank, was an assistant at UCLA under John Wooden and a successful head man at BYU.

    2. Anyone, Duke – Take your pick. Johnny Dawkins is always a hot name, but he seems to have a little Bill Guthridge syndrome and doesn’t seem ready to leave Coach K’s side any time soon. The same can’t be said for Chris Collins and Steve Wojciechowski, former Duke standouts as players, who should find themselves head guys in the next few years.

*Jeff Capel (OU) Was an assistant under his father at Old Dominion...before getting the VCU job. Then to the Sooners.

    3. Mark Montgomery, Michigan State—Associate head coach at his alma mater, he has been with Tom Izzo for six seasons now. Considering Izzos track record of sending his top assistants off to head coaching positions, this one is a no-brainer.

*Hate to say this one...because I hate MSU and Tom Izzo. But, these guys know how to win and recruit. One would think that Izzo often thinks back to that game in 2000 and would give ISU some props to this guy.

I am being serious about getting a top assistant. We wouldn't have to pay too much...but it would be a big start for any one of them to take a BIG 12 job and rebuild ISU. I sincerly hope that our Ath. Dept as well as "Big powers that be" like Gary Thompson are in JP's ear about getting a new coach this year. At least keep them involved in everything going on...

Tim Floyd is gone from USC.

Apparently Dawkins has beaten that "syndrome." He's now the head coach at Stanford...

Sorry about Dawkins too. Whoops. Though Wojo would be a sweet "get" from Duke IMO. He was a great player....and is really involved in their system for a couple of years now.... you gotta believe someone like that has made some major connections by being at Coach K's side..... ISU would be a great start for him.

Just having fun. I agree with your thinking. There are LOTS of great coaches out there, either working under great mentors, or head coaches at smaller schools. With our huge, loyal fan base, who respond quickly to a good product, this is an attractive job.
The worst thing ANY coaching candidate can say to Jamie is "I appreciate your interest, but no thanks."
