I still think we will get much better this year.

Re: we will get better in the coming seasons...
Here are some simple facts and then a question for any of you who are actually thinking this team will be better next year.
Lucca is already gone. MG and CB are likely gone next year. So that is (in conference games only) 44.8 points and 18.6 rebounds per game that must be replaced just to reach the same level of production as this year, which as we know was not a very productive year. (Of course, maybe the defense is going to suddenly become one of the best in the Big 12). Anyway. so who is going to step up and get those points and rebounds, from the players on the team now and those recruits and redshirts that will be available next year? I can't wait to hear this.

Wes Eikmeier and Jordan Dykstra?
I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

To sit here and put all our team struggles on DG and the guards is very naive.

Yes, there is a difference between ******** about problems and rationally discussing them and sometimes the line gets blurry. But that doesn't make everyone who tries to discuss the problems a whiner who doesn't support the team.
I guess we just like false dichotomies. If you protest the war it means you don't support the troops. If you protest a policy it means you don't support our government. Life is easier in black and white.

I had lunch with him when I was working there.
Let's hire him.

Re: we will get better in the coming seasons...
What we do not have is... confidence and lack of solid guard play. Our guards have turn balls over WAAAAAAAAAAAY too many times. Our PGs cant shoot like Sharron Collins, its easy to guard someone who cant really shoot except layups.

Where would you say the main problem on the floor has been? It is the guard play. How is naive to think that? Watch game. Our guards don't defend other guards. Baylor and KSU both had guys go of. Not only that, but on the other end they don't create. I still hold to the theory this team practices very differently than they play. I don't know that because I don't go to practice but with the things Mac and other coaches have said, I think that is a pretty good guess at why Mac said what he said and it hasn't come to fruition.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

I can't believe people think McD is going to magically learn how to coach at a major D1 school all of a sudden.
The McD experiment is over folks. He/we failed. Best to move on and make a quick, clean break.
well put.

There is NOTHING wrong with our big guys. They score and defend VERY well.
Our guards cant shoot and DG looks lost and just dribbling around top of the key.
McDermott, please play Colvin as PG. Least he makes some plays.

Gilstrap turned it over in a critical spot Saturday. Craig was great, but him being great this season has been the exception, not the rule.
The problem with this team is generally not individuals - but the team aspect they just don't seem to grasp.

Colvin had 4 assists to 3 turnovers while DG had 5 assists to 1 turnover. I'm still amazed by people who think Colvin should be starting ahead of DG.

Colvin's stats don't always compare, but he is always pushing ahead, trying to make things happen. His passes are crisper and his court vision is better. Heck, some of the turnovers are due to his teammates not expecting a pass. Had they gotten good guard play like that all year, they'd be ready for a pass.

Dude, I go to every game and DG is better right now than Colvin. I hate turnovers and he turns the ball over way too much. DG is the best point guard this team has right now.
