Outside the men's room: A rock and a hard place
Hey guys. Here's the latest from me, don't hammer on me too hard... Outside the men?s room: A rock and a hard place | Cyclone Fanatic -

Nice job. As far as the trivia question, the last one I can remember is Missouri during the 4OT marathon game. The season before, I'm pretty sure Jacquay Walls of Colorado put up 40 against us when Fizer and Company lost in Boulder.

Thanks. You're on the right track...

Re: Outside the men's room: A rock and a hard place
Trivia guess would be Nebraska with Maric.

You always make well thought out points.
I think the bottom line for me is that I don't have the stomach to start over again with a new coach. I don't know that we can afford the type of coach that would make me happy and if we are going to end up with another mid-major guy, I'd rather stick with McDermott.
The one real eye opener for me last night during the call-in show is the fact that we are still dealing with APR issues and that the coaching staff has had to take pass on some players because we couldn't gamble on academics. Some people say that isn't a big deal, but I think it is kind of huge.

I think the APR has been an issue for GMac, but most of it was earlier in his tenure. Fans also have to realize that part of the reason he had that automatic extension was because of the APR sanctions the program suffered, so McDermott did benefit in that regard even though it may have set the program back a bit.

Nice column! When did Econ 201 become Econ 101?

Re: Outside the men's room: A rock and a hard place
This is probably to long ago, but I know Anthony Peeler had at least 40 against us with like 20 from 20 from the line. I was there and it was crazy to watch.

Could it be Clarence "I never met a 30 footer I wouldn't shoot" Gilbert? I miss that guy.

Re: Outside the men's room: A rock and a hard place
Brent, you have the answer to all of my trivia questions...I feel like you are "The Schwab" and I'm not doing well enough to stump you.
Side note that Peeler did go for 40 back in the day as well as the earlier mentioned Jacquay "hit a half court shot to send it to overtime and proceed to beat the best team in ISU history with my crappy team" Walls.

Re: Outside the men's room: A rock and a hard place
Two guesses: Peeler or Steve Henson (KSU).

Re: Outside the men's room: A rock and a hard place
Very good article! I agree with pretty much everything you wrote...I'm also not sure if Mac can make it out here alive and I also don't think EVERYTHING should be on his shoulders. The guy has flat out had some terrrible luck and anyone who says otherwise just has an agenda behind it. The one thing I think everybody who seems to keep bringing up the 'apathy' card is forgetting is that apathy, or lack of fan interest almost always happens the year AFTER. Look, people have had their KSU tickets for months so almost everyone goes...we may lose a little of the walk up crowd but we will really begin to see fan attrition starting next year. How many people put their money into football or simply don't get as many bb tickets next year? My gut say's a lot. Maybe not enough to make us look like Boulder or Iowa City but I fear what Hilton looks like next year.
