What the national press thinks of ISU MBB
From the AP:
"...Taylor fueled a 14-0 run that turned a tight game into the laugher everyone expected, and No. 1 Kansas romped..."

1) Virtually all of KU's games are laughers
2) I wouldn't exactly call a 14 point win a romp

What about the "everyone expected" part???? There was a time not too terribly long ago that people around the country actually had some respect for ISU MBB no matter who we were playing. That no longer exists.

You realize you are talking about the #1 team in the country don't you? Everyone expects their games to be a laugher because of how good they are. It has nothing to do with ISU. It's not like we were playing Nebraska and that was what they were saying.

Just because the article is from the AP doesn't mean that's the "national" writer. Doug Tucker is from Kansas.
Re: What the national press thinks of ISU MBB
The game was on ESPNU and the announcers were very very complimentary of GMAC. They stated he is one of the most respected coaches in the Big 12. And that other coaches say he is one of the harder teams to prepare for. Well respected by everyone but some of our fans.

Yes, and all of us watching the game thought the announcers were really knowledgeable and said a bunch of things we all agreed with! Wait...

If I was an opposing coach in the B12 I'd say really nice things about McD too.

Well of course. And their record against GM speaks of that.
Re: What the national press thinks of ISU MBB
did anyone catch when the play by play guy asked Stephen Howard if McD's job should be in trouble. Howard said with all the players leaving, suspensions, injuries; Yes it should be. I'm sure he meant to say no. i thought it was funny. he was saying all the reasons it shouldn't be, but then said yes, it is.

I remember how much "respect" the coaches had for McCarney too.

I was confused by that as well. Thought maybe I missed something...

Did everyone expect KU's game against Texas to be a laugher? How about the game against Tennessee? Were those supposed to be laughers?
The point of this is that if ISU was even close to being in the top half of the conference, the AP and whoever else may not have expected it to be a laugher.

Especially at KU
