There's a pretty good McDonald's on Duff, however, I'd stay away from there and head to the Wendy's on Lincoln Way...
Just kidding, I guess I'll be the person to say it, try Hickory Park on Duff Ave.
Beer.
Great Plains Sauce and Dough (on main)
Hickory Park (on south duff)
Please nobody insult Aggie fans with suggestions of bbq in Ames. Just don't. As for unique dining, I don't have a clue, but I want to wish you guys a safe trip and hope you enjoy yourselves. I hope ISU wins, but that probably isn't going to happen.
Went to the ISU-aTm game at your house in fball and had a blast. Great fans that were classy as could be. Proud to be in a conference with the Aggies.
what kind of food are you looking for?
Thanks for the kind words, stark contrast from baylorfans.com.
Just looking into trying something we can't get here or in Texas, anything that is unique to Iowa. Someone on texags.com recommended Hickory Park so we might head there.
How is the tailgating atmosphere around the game? Parking?
Parking isn't bad at all and its free. Pretty much zero basketball tailgaiting, gotta head up for football, that's awesome tailgaiting.
Great trip. Didn't end up eating at Hickory bc of a 1.5 + hr wait, we went to a Chinese Buffet instead. Great move by one of your ushers, she was able to move our small group close behind our team bench. Best of luck the rest of the way.
