Well pretty much, yea we have five games left, and we'll only win against nebraska if god grants us a gift, and then one big 12 tourny game, and theres no way we'll win that...another season gone to the dumps, i miss being good at basketball

By early Mar, the players can rest and work on their education which they will need. They also can take mnore practice shots in the nice practice facility.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Re: its sad that basketball season for ISU is over
Yeah, I was looking forward to the Big 12 in KC just like the "good old days". I have great connections down there and would have easy access to tix, but then reality set in---what was I thinking? How many 100% physically/mentally committed scholarship players do we have at this point? Dendy-no (attitude), Scott C-no (mono), Marquis-(lingering knee issues?) that leaves five. This ship is a wreck and I would love to have a video camera in the AD's office when MCD and JP have their post season sit down. JP made a mistake the first time with Chizek, got bailed out when he left and got it right the second time with Rhoades. I trust he reconizes his mistake the first time with McD also and finds a way out so he can duplicate his second hire with the FB program. Nobody dislikes McD as a person, it just has not worked out for whatever reason and it is time to move on.

"when will the torture of gmac end?".............NO TIME SOON
Its pretty much conventional wisdom that Greg Mac will be back next year and until fans stop buying basketball tickets.
Why would JP fire Mac when the basketball coach is making money by putting 11000 people in Hilton on a weds nite? In short JP will not fire mcdermott anytime soon......... btw the u of i would kill for 11000 fans in their building on a weds nite.
I look forward to next year and just seeing what Greg McDermott can do in his 5th year. I think all coaches should be given five years unless they lose all their games, so Im just sitting back waiting for next year and another season of exciting-losing-basketball outta Greg McDermott!!!!

Probably one of my favorite experiences as a Cyclone fan but I am going to quit talking about it now because it depresses me to think it will not happen again for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG time thanks to GMAC. We're heading down Thursday morning fully expecting ISU (men) to be done playing before we get there.

Re: its sad that basketball season for ISU is over
great new thread idea, this is really something to think about here. These are some really good, original points. Very insightful.

Re: its sad that basketball season for ISU is over
I agree it is very sad that the season is virtually over. To state the obvious, it's hard to see this team fall so far after the excitement and expectations that everyone had at the beginning of the year. It is even worse to keep losing games in such embarassing fashion. I just want to be able to wear my cyclone hoops shirt in public with some amount of pride.
