How long has Cyclone Alley been around?

This may tick some of you off, but I think it needs to go away. Hear me out.

When I was in school, we had roaming tickets as students. That was during the peak of Orr's Hilton Magic. The students were spread out and would get up and get loud. It forced everyone to get up and really get engaged in the game.

When they cut to shots of CA now, it seems like a bunch of people doing the same thing. Half of them look like they're falling asleep or don't know how to really get themselves into a frenzy.

I remember being at the game when Adonis Jordan and Rex Walters talked about how crazy it was and they could see the rim shaking in the final minute when they were trying to make key freethows, which they missed (Jordan). That season we beat Kansas and OSU when they were both top 5 teams.

What was wrong with having the students spread out, and why is an organized student section necessary????

I'm not blaming this year on CA, I'm making the point that the magic is gone, due to a bonehead move.

I'm sure some of the older fans appreciated the move...they didn't have to get up and get into the game anymore...

Tickets are getting quite expensive, especially when you others will only buy it for maybe $5 max if you can't make it.

Add on $30 a year for Cyclone Alley and it's hard to do.

I personally don't see why we can't do something like UNI where you get into everything for free as a student.

From what I've heard from my friends who went to smaller schools, this is usually what they do. Why are they not free here? Because people are willing to pay for them. If i'm not mistaken, I think student tickets for basketball almost sold out. Students just are not going to the games. If tickets were to be free, then they would only add it to student fees which would spread it out amongst all students which would not go down well.

If they were free, it would seem that there would still be a centralized student section, and I don't see the value in it at this point.

If half of Cyclone Alley isnt going to show up to the game what is the point. In the old system when you had seat in the lower ring you were going to show up.

Absolutely! I remember having a seat behind the opposing team, SUNY Buffalo, and I was excited as hell for that game. We won 106-36, I wouldn't have missed a single game when we were close to the floor.
