I feel for Craig, as I do for the whole team and the coaches. This season has not gone as anyone expected. Defections, injuries, underachieving add it all to the list.
One can thing we can say though is this team has not quit, unlike some of our "fans"

Re: Brackins: “I feel that I let my teammates down”

I have a feeling most D1 athletes work hard. Craig's problem is not playing smart... not boxing out, fear of contact, lack of intensity, taking low percentage shots early in the shot clock, just standing outside the paint.... etc. I don't question that he's practicing hard... but he needs to be smart about it.

Whether this is coaching or not, Craig should be smarter.

I'd like to see him go out there and play like it doesn't matter at all, because at this point, it really doesn't.

your god damn right. Where is the fire craig? Man up and kick some ***!! what happened to the 42 point game against KU last year? too many damn scouts telling him how great he is and how he is ready. No way he is ready now he's simply not physical enough right now. rip me all you want. he's one hell of a player don't get me wrong, i simply do not think he is ready for the next level, maybe i'm wrong, maybe i'm being too critical.

He's only averaging 4.83 FT attempts per game in conference play, so he's really only drawing 2-3 shooting fouls. He needs to initiate contact down low more. That will go a long way towards opening up his game more.

maybe he shouldn't complain to the opposing team about getting doubled, kansas comes to mind. IMO craig didn't turn down NBA. He's not ready.

It makes me wonder, if he did go to the NBA how would he have done? People are saying he isn't tough enough so it just makes me curious. Good pick up? or Bust?

Whether or not he would be playing any minutes in the NBA right now, he was still a lock to be a first round pick, if not a lotter pick last year. He turned down millions of dollars to come back to ISU because he thought we would have a solid team this year. Turns out this year hasn't really gone according to plan.
I hope nothing but the best for him in the future, whatever he decides to do.
I agree with your post wholeheartedly. But he wasn't a lock for the first round. He was on the bubble of First/Second. Some even predicted late 2nd. Big difference in money there.
