    I'm hesitant to post this...

Because I don't want to bring out any more bashing of the current ISU MBB program by remembering the glory of yester-year, but this is too awesome to not post.

Jamaal was a wizard. I loved watching him dribble between defender's legs.

I forgot how much I hated Mateen's mom after that game in 2000.

Re: I'm hesitant to post this...

That was a dang good UCLA team that Iowa State man-handled 80-56 back in the 2000 tourney. The Bruins had 6 NBA players on the team and four that are still around in the league. (Matt Barnes, Jason Kapono, Earl Watson and Dan Gadzuric)

Some forget that UCLA came into that game picked by many to beat the Cyclones because they had just routed a pretty good Maryland team in the 2nd round.

I believe the win against UCLA is the best basketball game Iowa State has ever played.

I don't knwo brent. Our big win over SDSU this year may have something to say about that!

The only reason that LE and the team were able to pull this brilliant run off was because he didn't have to deal with the same stuff McD has to this year....

    This!
That ISU team should have won it all. I'm convinced.

At that time, I lived somewhat near the Wendy's in West Ames, and after that win over UCLA I went out onto my front porch and you could literally hear screaming and yelling coming from campus/campustown.It was like the entire campus was yelling. It was such an awesome thing to hear. I'll never forget it.
We immediately headed for the party!!

That's a great point. That game gets forgotten. You're not only great at play-by-play, Brent, you're a great historian too.

There is a reason we finished in the final polls at #3 without ever making the Final Four.

    It went:

    1. Michigan St (Champion)
    2. Florida (Runner up)
    3. Iowa St

I have been desperately wanting to watch the Michigan St game again for years to see the meltdown at the end to reinforce my thoughts that we got screwed and that we were that good.

Guess I know what I am doing tonight.
