Cyclone Alley
Has Cylone Alley ever thought about going away from the whole same t-shirt thing? It looks cool and all having everyone wearing the same thing, but I feel like it takes away from some of the fans creative potential. I bet we could see some pretty funny shirts or cool costumes if we weren't forced to wear the CA shirts. plus if they are really stuck on the same color thing they could just have a requirement that you must wear cardinal or gold or something. Plus you might get more students to come if they didn't have to have a CA shirt because if people have an extra ticket you can't just give it to someone because they most likely don't have a shirt to go with it. Just a thought.

Re: Cyclone Alley
Great thought and it has been discussed until the cows have come home here, but there doesn't appear to be an end in sight. Like it or not, it's just the way it is.

Re: Cyclone Alley
Time for another one of these, eh?
I agree with most of what you said (except gold being allowed, either cardinal OR gold but not both for one game), but if your only excuse for not being creative was that you had to wear a shirt... you weren't trying very hard.

Just a thought. Pretty sure the idea is to not be able to give a ticket to someone who doesn't have the shirt. The way they prove you paid to be in cyclone alley is the shirt, that's why you get to sit up front. That's the bigger issue than actually having everyone dressed the same. Because if it is still how it is when I was a student, you can give the ticket to someone else but they sit in the balcony area of the student section.
"Blamo"! The new CF approved swear word. -
Re: Cyclone Alley
My bad. I'm a fairly new CF so I guess I missed threads about this before. And it's not just so people can be creative, people would be able to wear jerseys and other cyclone gear, and yes only one color per game is what I had in mind

Re: Cyclone Alley
And yes that might be a reason why they keep the shirts, but if you paid for the ticket it shouldn't matter who uses it.

So why not just sell 2 levels of student season ticket, one for lower bowl access, one for balcony-only ? (of course over-sell the lower bowl, and have some overflow into the balcony) Would certainly make re-sell of the lower level ones easier since you could sell to those that dont have the shirts.

Re: Cyclone Alley
Not regarding CA, but yesterday in class we were asked who went to the game last night. Two people out of 300. Teacher preceded to rip pretty hard on people who didn't go then asked why? Majority of people said it was because of cost - ~100 dollars+ 30 bucks for CA. Don't most other schools include this in student fees? Think this would be a good way to make sure place is packed.

Re: Cyclone Alley
K-State's tickets are a bunch more expensive than ours, and there are two levels (you pay more to get in early for the better seats).

And yes, something needs to happen to bring up student attendance. And that would be to either lower prices or increase the value of going (winning more games).
The past few games have had pitiful attendance. We don't even have the lower sections of CA full anymore.

Yeah the first part of the season was awesome but ever since colorado it started gettin worse. I guess it's just cause we stopped winning? The students will for sure be back next year even if no changes were made (at least for the first part again) but it would be nice for CAC to notice the problems and at least attempt to fix um

I think most of the smaller schools do this such as UNI and Western Illinois university that I know of. I would bet that most BCS level schools make their students pay for their tickets. Since the smaller schools don't get much attention, they need to make tickets free so people go to the games and make a home field advantage. All of the BCS schools get attention and students are willing to pay for them. The real question to ask not why did people not buy tickets, its why are the people who have tickets not going to the games. I think student tickets always sell out for basketball, but no one attends due to losing.
