No, it doesn't. Kind of makes you wonder about the other player defections/transfers and the incidents like Dendy and Colvin a little more doesn't it?

This should help with any recruits that might read this though.

Nothing 'new' here. ISU encouraged him to play, because the information they had from Johnson and multiple doctor visits showed no damage.

Please tell me what coach wouldn't do that?

And even after the WJ pulled the rug out on McD, he still had the class to promote him to another coach.

So? DId you miss the part about how the ISU coaches thought he was soft, and GMac yelled at him for not playing against Nebraska? And how the medical staff here could not see the stress fracture because of the blood and swelling......but what....they thought WJ was soft or faking it? How do you fake swelling? Turns out there was a stress fracture that required surgery. Seems to me like the medical staff, whoever they are, were completely incompetent in this case, and then the coaching staff just compounded the problem. So stupid. Why would you think your star player was too soft, and not wanting to play or something? Idiotic.

That really makes ISU look bad. Unreal, I cannot believe a coach would ever push an athlete to play through pain. Especially when your trusted medical staff is clearing him to play.

I read that article a few days ago after the link was posted on a DMR board.

I honestly can't wait until Syracuse does its usual toe-stubbing in the tournament, so we don't have to hear any more about Wesley Johnson. I mean, good for him, and yes, it was certainly the signature blunder in GMac's resume ... but I just don't care anymore.

But something does not add up here. If the x-rays Iowa State took showed no damage because of the swelling and blood, wouldn't the swelling and blood still tell you that something was wrong? And the fact that he was having trouble running should have told you something. Why would you think that your star player didn't want to play, or was faking an injury, which is essentially what the ISU coaches were accusing him of doing by saying he was soft. Something just does not pass the smell test here, and in light of other player defections and problems we have all seem, I'm sorry.....but I tend to believe WJ here.

It more or less comes down to a trust issue. WJ said he was in pain and could not play. Coaching staff did not believe him and punished him for not playing hard. If you were WJ, what would you think?

There is nothing surprising in that story because that has been Wes's side of the story all along. If you notice, the sources for this story was Wes's brother and a SU assistant coach.
