My question is who cares if they don't come here? They are mid major junior college prospects. As far as Phillips is concerned, I can't even find anyone else that was recruiting him so that does not sound promising. I would rather the coach be let go then keep the coach just to keep these recruits.

Phillips had ACC offers out of high school. I believe from Miami and Virginia. I don't think that he was getting recruited much because it was common knowledge that he was going to go to Iowa State.

Not that I am relishing the thought of some kid getting screwed even if it helps us, but what are his options if McD does leave. I know I've heard that players can get LOIs if there's a coaching change, but where is he going to go if nobody else has been recruiting him out of JUCO?

not necessarily. say the new guy comes in and re-recruits the kids and they buy in. why would they then want to leave?

You and your facts that do not directly uncover the incompetence of our incoming recruits have no place here.

We have to realize that if a big name school is looking at the same players we are they probably aren't coming to ISU folks. I don't remember Tinsley, Horton, Nurse, Vroman, Pearson, or Mike Taylor ever being highly recruited Jucos and they all were good players here. Go back to the Floyd days with Cato and Willoughby too. I would rather have 4 year players too but everyone wants to win now and at this point of the signing stages jucos are about all we are going to get until the next class. I think this staff does find some diamonds in the rough too at all levels. No one knew who Wesley Johnson was when we signed him and as much as it hurts to see him now he's a top 3 NBA pick that our coaching staff originally found.
