I really hope that Craig's draft prospects didn't suffer too much from this season. He's a good kid, and I think some of his drop in stature and stats was team related.
Man, that sucks. They are saying there are at least three guys better than him at his position in our conference. Add that to the fact he is considered a tweener and I think it does hurt him. We will just have to wait and see what the scouts are saying I guess.
I guess I don't see how Brackins last year can decide that it's better to come back and then use the same process to decide this year he needs to go. I get it that he's older, but between last year and this year he's one year older.
I would think last year it was a toss up as he was thinking he could be a lottery pick. Well, not anymore. So now it's about putting himself in the best position to be picked at all and hopefully first round. I think the downside of staying one more year would be greatly outweighed by the upside of coming back and proving himself. Last year it was 50/50 and a very confident Brackins believed in the upside. It didn't work out... can't change history.
There is risk again this year... but if Craig knows who he is and knows he is first round material, then I would say that risk is small. But only Craig knows that. If he's afraid that he might drop further and he needs to go now... then that's OK. But if he still thinks he's a lottery pick, then going this year is not wise.
I personally think the team hurt him a little bit, but based on his performance he's not a lottery level talent. Never did think that. But I am open minded and would hope that he can find a way, whether here at ISU, or somewhere professionally next year to show that he is that level of talent.
Steve Deace keeps saying Mac is a horrible coach because we have two pros on our team and we finished in 11th place (although you could just as accurately say we finished 9th place).
So one of our "pros" is only 3rd team all-conference and the other isn't honored at all? How can that be?
It couldn't possibly be that the Steve Deace is mistaken. He's never wrong.
Nobody understands our team. We just underachieved becuase we could not make entry passes at the right time.
Actually, I think CB decided to drive inside across the middle when the double team came in the KSU game instead of dribbling outside to start all over.
This may be a subtle change, but it will make his game worth a lot more by attacking the bucket instead oif just passing back outside or taking a forced three.
Let's hope he has figured out how to add this maneuver to his game in the tournament. He was too easy to defense before.
