Re: Wes Eikmeier
Could have been a couple, assuming he makes a couple of 3-point shots.
Anything that got us above 20% back there would have helped a ton.

Re: Wes Eikmeier
Under, he was about the forth or fifth best 3 point shooter on last years team.

Re: Wes Eikmeier
It will be interesting to follow Wes' career. I bet he does well at CSU. Wouldve been a good MVC player also.

Re: Wes Eikmeier
I think he was sick for most of the season last year, so I don't think it is fair to beat him up too much. He was undersized for the big 12, but he could have provided some scoring from the guard position, and that is something we didn't see much of.

Re: Wes Eikmeier
I think he could have been a nice player for us eventually, but he needed a year in the weight room.

Re: Wes Eikmeier
under, too frail a physique and I think he knew that he would have a tough time putting the weight on. Probably had been trying to do that for several years. Was the reason why no other D-1 offers out of Fremont, Neb.

Re: Wes Eikmeier
kid could shoot no doubt there.... but i agree with that he was a poor mans Scotty C.

Re: Wes Eikmeier
Eik is the worst player McD has recruited. It's not even close. There was absolutely no part of his game that translated to the B12 and he never should have been offered.
HE HAD A FREAKING SET SHOT. Seriously, I haven't seen a set shot like that since Stacy Freese. He couldn't handle the ball. He couldn't play a lick of defense. He had the body of Michael Cera. Eik belonged on a B12 roster about as much as Lindsey Lohan belongs in a convent.

My estimation Eik would have made a difference based on our sudden need for a shooter.
We lost several close games due to lack of firepower.
We had several games where our three guards could not even shoot at a broadside barn from outside. Shots were short, shotsa bounced off top of backboard, shots were blocked. Undfortunately, we mostly could not make a layup either for several games. The guard court was a shambles for most of the Biug 12 conference season.
We had several guard games where we stepped out of bounds nonchelently and threw away passes.
When Lucca left, he screwed our outside shooting game as DG, SC, and CC were not able to shoot from there with confidence.
Then it took several games for CB to decide that he did not necessarily have to dribble back outside with all the double teams. He finally decided last game to just drive the ball across the middle and shoot.
We had Gilstrap go through whole sections of game where nothing happended for him adfter a nice early start. He was effected by lack of guard shooting prowess.
Ham became the primary player showing improvement after Lucca left. Yet, he was not enough to undo the impact of no outside game.
Dendy had a great early start then he had a mid conference epidsode which negated his impact during our downtime.
As shooting percentages dropped, our eight players became hesitant to take a shot and the possessions wound down to a last second possession buzzer beater.
Eik would have helped win two games. Lucca the same. Maybe JVB would have also. We just did not have enough offense with our eight players for one reason or another when the main part of conference was played.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Re: Wes Eikmeier
Eik would not have helped us win two games. He may have knocked down a couple open threes, but how many times would he turn the ball over, not box out his man on defense or allow his defender to blow by him.
You can't just look at his ability to shoot and assume with 6 extra points a game, we would have won a couple close contests. We would have been a much worse team on the floor, and I say we would have won fewer games than we actually did if Eik was a contributor for this year's team, which thank God he wasn't.
