In any case I think DG needs to be on the floor. I think we agree on that, just not necessarily position. I like the idea of Colvin getting to the point where he can play the one. That would give us two guys in the backcourt that can handle the ball well enough to break pressure.

Why do people think that DG is a 2? The guy can not shoot!!!

Re: Colvin says he's coming back
DG is a much better option at point guard right now than Colvin. He shoots at a higher percentage from every where on the court than Colvin. He has a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio while Colvin has more turnovers than assists. In no way does Colvin's on court production surpass DG's.

He's not a 1.
He's not a 2.
Hell, he's probably closest to a 3, as odd as that sounds.
But he isn't any of them really. Never was. He's a Utility Guard. That should have been his "position" from day 1 (if that makes sense). He's a slasher. He's a guy that can get to the hoop from the wing. He's a guy that can handle the ball. He's a guy that should be able to use his length to guard multiple positions. He's the very definition of "Utility Guard."

Just imagine him playing the 3 though - he would fail miserably. DG does not fit into any position BUT he is going to continue to start and play a majority amount of the minutes. He will be one of the key factors as to why the program is crashing and burning. Of course you can not really blame DG for that. Mac is the one who recruited him and plays him as much as he does.

Im pretty sure Colvins dad is related to the coach there or something like that. I know Colvin was at one of his games last year trying to get him to come to ISU.

Well I certainly won't label DG as "nothing." I agree that an issue with Mac has been trying to fit DG into a position, and only that one position. He should have let him be utility from day 1. You don't have to have a 1, a 2, a 3, a 4, and a 5 on the floor at all times. Hell, you don't even have to EVER have that combination on the floor to be successful.
DG can be an asset to this team. Maybe even a big asset. I like his positives. But Greg has to find the role for him...the right fit...for next year. It's his job.
