Why not be optomistic about next season
Sure the stars will be gone. But hopefully other players will step up. Maybe players in the system will understand it better, like SC and Dendy. Ham, Dendy and Colvin will make jumps going into next year. Maybe the JUCO will bring something this team lacks. Maybe Eijm will come ready to play. This team played hard at the end of the season and was in a lot of games. DG made a huge leap from the start of Big 12 play to the end.
I guess I being postive is better than being pissy about next season all summer. When we have no idea what will happen.

Because blind optimism in year five makes you look like a fool.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

Maybe I'm a fool, too, but I'm with kingcy.

Re: Why not be optomistic about next season
I want every chance at success, and will be optimistic, and with the team the best.
However, to expect a freshman, or any incoming Juco to change the world of B12 competitive play, is repeating what we have done before, with same expectations.
We may get a different outcome but the sane conclusion is we will get the same outcome.

Because hope is not a strategy and this regime has not even given us hope.

Well, that drew the negative Nancy's like flies to ****. We have a nucleus coming back that has potential. We certainly need some players to have breakthrough seasons, and need the new players to step up. -

Next year will be the first season that I won't be looking forward to the first MBB game.

He made a statement of opinion, but at this point all we have is hope and no change.
As I said, I hope we are, but most would not predict as such based on returning players, new players and the state of the B12.

Re: Why not be optomistic about next season
I'm with you Kingcy. Why would I want to waste the off season expecting the sky to fall? I am still going to get excited about the summer league, the new guys and the possibility that these guys might actually be a cohesive productive team. It happens all the time. The guys that are suiting up next year want to be here. The past has nothing to do with them and they don't need a bunch of whiners telling them how bad they are going to be BEFORE they play one minute of basketball. Go Cyclones!

I'm always pumped for basketball season. It'll be nice not to have outside predictions of success.

I think it's time to buy URBCLONE and cyclonenum1 a puppy to kick.

I'm looking forward to next year. It's Cyclone Basketball, and I always look forward to it. It's a lot better than sitting around grumbling all the time.
