Thank you to the 2009-2010 Men's basketball team!
I just wanted to take time to thank the players who represented Iowa State this basketball season. The guys stuck it out and played their guts out with a lot extra garbage to deal with. Sure they had some let downs, but games like the Kansas State game remind us how fun it is to be passionate about this program and school.
I know some fans think its okay to quit supporting the program and players, but the players never quit on their school. To whoever comes back, you can expect to have my support and can't wait to watch ISU compete!
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

+1. They stuck around and played their hearts out night in and night out. I seriously wanted to cry after our loss in Sprint Center last night. I really wanted them to win for Brackins and Gilstrap. Thanks Iowa State. You guys are all winners to me.

I feel really bad for them. They did battle all year long. For whatever reason though, they just didn't have the 'it' factor to put them over the top.

I really appreciated the heart of this team in those last several games.
It was a roller coaster that probably created some heart conditions and high blood pressure, but this was a fun team in the end.

Re: Thank you to the 2009-2010 Men's basketball team!
+1 again! I'm glad there are still some people that can see the effort and heart we put into last night and the entire season. I know sitting courtside when Brackins and Gilstrap both came off and seeing them fighting back tears last night, it was tough to watch and I appreciate everything our boys gave us this year. I also really appreciated Fennelly letting the women's team come support our boys and for them taking the time to stay and watch the whole game. Let's keep up the support for our Twister Sisters when they play tomorrow!! -
Re: Thank you to the 2009-2010 Men's basketball team!
I applaud them for playing their butts off. Had they won a game like that K-State game early in the conference season, I have no doubt they'd have won several of the close games they lost.

Re: Thank you to the 2009-2010 Men's basketball team!
Nice post. But to be fair. Not all of the players, 'stuck it out'. Staiger quit mid season.
Look at the backlash that he got. I don't hate the guy. But I think he deserved the backlash he got. Which is also why I think it's fair for fans who quit on the Cyclones to get the same treatment.
I too, thank the players. I enjoyed watching you guys fight it out every game. I'll be back to watch next year and hopefully see us pull out a few more wins!
I feel for you Gilstrap. Wish you coulda gotten support from the NCAA.
Brackins, whatever you decide, I wish you all the success in the world. You're a classy person and player! You have represented Iowa State extremely well! I'll be following your career where ever you go next year!
Everyone else on the team... I look forward to next year on the hardwood!

Please don't let us lose that just because our program's in a rough spot right now

These guys fought their butts off, and while it didn't go like it could have, they kept fighting through it. Can't wait until next season!

I also thank the players for choosing to be Clones and playing hard this year. I always have and always will support the players. But don't confuse criticism of the coach when he's not getting the job done with not supporting the players or the program. I was a Clone long before GMac or JP came here and if I live long enough I'll be a Clone long after they're gone. They're big boys getting paid big bucks and taking criticism for their failures is part of the game.

These guys didn't quit. They played hard and I appreciate that.
Good luck to everyone, whatever happens.

Good group of young men right now on the team. I'm happy they represent ISU.
