Williams Blog: The duo is gone, what is next for Iowa State?
Here are some quick thoughts on next year. I'll elaborate on this more in the coming days/weeks. There could be a lot of fun conversation when predicting next year's starting lineup. A total toss up at this point. Williams Blog: The duo is gone, what's next? | Cyclone Fanatic -

I very much doubt Ejim starts next year. I would actually be shocked because that would mean one of two things. The first Ejim is a lot better than advertised, this would be a good thing. The second thing is that we are a lot worse than I ever imagined and Ejim is as advertised, a solid 4 year guy.

Pretty good read. I think the starting lineup will be all over the place for at least 10 games. I think Scotty has to see a ton of minutes after watching him play when healthy.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -

Chris you forgot Buckley on your projection.... maybe it was intentional but I saw you said you were assuming no player defections.
If we are to sign the trio of Railey, Clyburn, and Wilkins, we will have to get one additional scholaship from somewhere.

If we can convince Big Ham to get tatted up and get into a couple brawls, I'll feel much better going into next year.

I'm hoping for one of our open scholarships we give a good look at Kurt Alexander(ICCC) he was immensely impressive for the Triton's the second half of this season.

we are going to be very soft in the front court this coming year.
just not the toughness there you need to compete in the Big12

I think we will have a decent team. If all these players stick around and stay healthy, McDermott should be able to rotate a ton and not lose much talent on the floor. That will be ideal for a fast paced game where we wear down the opposition.
My starting lineup would be as follows:
PG - Garrett
SG - Phillips
SF - Dendy
PF - Vanderbeken
C - Ham
This is an experienced team with 3 seniors and 2 juniors.
First off the bench - Colvin
Although, Colvin would be an excellent starter for a fast game. His speed and willingness to drive is far superior to Garrett. He just needs to make better court decisions, but he was only a freshman this year.

All of this to help install the "meat head" mentality that we all want him to show. This training may result in him becoming a ****** bag, but I am willing to take that risk.

I don't think that Ejim will start the first game next year but by the time Big 12 play rolls along, his skills on defense will make it hard to keep him out.
