Check out his facebook pic! And he is a fan of Hickory Park and Iowa State Men's Basketball.
I wonder if the UNI player he is posterizing was McDermott? Then again, they may have never played against each other...I really can't recall clearly since UNI was such a non-issue for us back then.
I have a couple of those posters...I think one is of John Waite??? Center with the bum knee back in the early 80's..I might have the name wrong...Falenchek...wonder what the big guy is up to?
I finally figured out what this thread is about...
"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr

I think Johnny inherited Ron so I'm pretty sure he would have been gone by the time GMac was at UNI. But I remember one time there was some kind of alumni game that was played before a real game and Ron broke away for a fast break and dunked it. Johnny was at the scorers table taping his pregame show with Pete (it was quite a bit before the actual game started) and when JO saw Ron's fast break he about fell out of his chair he was laughing so hard.
Speaking of those posters, I have a bunch of them in my attic.
I remember an interview one time with Johnny talking about a preview of what he expected in an upcoming season. He went through almost the entire rosters and incoming recruits talking about expectations for scoring, rebounding, defense, etc. Then almost as an afterthought he threw in "and then we also have Big Ol Falenschek".
