His name is getting thrown around in a lot of coaching searches, and I came across these links from last year. Pretty interesting it isn't getting said now that his team is winning.

Scott Drew is in a unique situation b/c it is not public knowledge how much money he earns.

I think it would be more awesome if we just got a coach that could outcoach these guys. Let them have whoever as long as we can get someone that can win .....period. Tim Floyd in town we werent concerned who was coaching where cause we could beat anyone in the country on a given night with the guys he brought in and the team he was able to mold them into

He has proven he's a good coach. To go into Baylor and make them a good team says something about his ability. He will get his payday at a high level program in the near future.

That would suck big time.

I would prefer to be in the best conference.

I would prefer that we strive to have one of the best teams in the Conference rather than for the other teams in the Conference to come down to our current level.

he's getting his payday now.

I'm not ignorant to think he'd never leave, but there's only a handful of school i'm scared of right now.

to the op, rick barnes has some serious beef with drew that has never really become public. but since losing to us in the tourney last year, he has really gone out of his way to leak information to the media, all of which is still speculative. There are countless message board rumors about Drew's recruiting practices, but in all this time I've seen one shred of truth about a flyer sent out saying which coach has recruited an all american (soon after we landed tweety). Probably not the best idea, but somehow I'm not thinking that's the worst thing said on the recruiting trails. Owning texas this year was so much fun for the fans this year after those articles came out.

I definitely have no ill will against Baylor and you guys playing well is a benefit to the conference.

Drew is by far the most hated coach amongst Big 12 coaches. There's a reason for that. The man lives in the gray area.

Hated by who? I don't hate him, and haven't heard much from around the league. Not saying that he doesn't do anything shady, but what evidence do you have to back that up?

Other coaches usually speak pretty highly of Self; there's a good amount of respect there. I'm not sure what you're referring to. If you think Self is recruiting illegally, you may want to check out how he's done lately. The last McDAA he's gotten to commit initially to KU was in 2005. Lately, Self has just been cleaning up when other schools have coaching changes.

Hated by the other Big 12 coaches, as I clearly said in my post. It's pretty well known around the league that he's a negative recruiter who won't hesitate to make up things about other schools if it will help his chances.

although agreeing with anybody affiliated with KU goes against everything i believe in kucyclone is 100% correct. All the other Big 12 coaches despise him, and the "coaching fraternity" hates him. I thought this was common knowledge
