    Serious question about McDermott

Anyone know if the guy has personal issues? I am not getting on his case, but he must rub these players wrong once they get to Ames. Anyone know him personally or know someone that does that can explain his issue with student athletes?

I think it's a combination of two things.

    1. He must have an issue dealing with Big 12 caliber players.

    2. Big 12 caliber players are probably going to have bigger egos than MVC players. Most of them have probably been coddled since they started playing.

Either or, it's still on the coach to run a smoothe ship.

Why do we keep losing players, is it the coach?

The latest is that Hamilton is not really looking to play close to home. Staiger did not need to leave in mid season, his team said they did not expext him until summer. He called out Johnson in front of the team, is what I have heard and later it was found that he was injured. Why is this not being looked into. Obviously something is wrong. Could it be something that would change his contract. Please someone investigate.

Could this maybe get merged with the hundreds of other threads on the topic?

exactly. I have actually heard from several former coaches that WJ is one of the laziest players they have ever seen, but he performs to a high caliber when he wants. I think the laziness was the main reason he didn't get along well with coach mac.

FTW. Wouldn't even have had to leave the front page of threads to find the appropriate one!

So since Pollard's son is constantly receiving medical attention, and we're paying his salary, we are entitled to know everything that's happening in his personal life? Get real.

No offense, but your posts come off as completely uneducated and condescending.

I could care less about his personal life. I do care about how he is doing his job, since I am helping to pay his salary, and if there are certain things he is doing that is hindering his overall success in his job.

Here's a lesson for you: If they are personal issues, they aren't any of your business.

If they are personnel issues, you need more education to learn the difference between personal and personnel.
