I just confirmed that Iowa State has offered Jarrod Uthoff, a 2011 power forward out of Cedar Rapids Jefferson. His Rivals profile lists him at 6-foot-8, 190 pounds. He also holds offers from Creighton and Albany.

Obvious question...how is he related to Dean Uthoff, ISU's rebounding machine from the late-70's?

Yes...they are related, not sure the connection. Averaged 21 points and 10 rebs, 1st team all-state by several publications.

Skilled big, young for his class, shot 55 percent from the field and 80 percent from the line. Think of him in the Adam Koch mold...but he could get a little taller as he's not yet 17.

If he's that skinny, to me that means a redshirt. If you guarantee they're going to have to redshirt at least one year, that to me means they are a project.

May or may not...He's only a junior, he has time to put weight on.
