I have only been to a couple Energy games, what stuck out was Nurse had a connection with his players which is no small feat in my opinion at the D-League level. He also seemed to have some appreciation for the season ticket holders (all 1,500 of them?). How D-League success translates to College Coaching, I don't know - but I will say if you can keep a lot of NBA hopefuls happy in the D League - then I like his chances at helping with player relations at ISU.

I hope he bring an offense that works.
I really do wonder if this is a head coach in waiting type of thing.

Nicely stated and agree.

I really do wonder if this is a head coach in waiting type of thing. I would like to hope not. If we fire Mac, we better come up with a better replacement than a guy who doesn't have any head coaching experience in college.

Re: A note on ISU's assistant coach search
I hope we get him. Listening to him he sounds like a good guy. If he kind handle the players on the Energy he can handle any player Iowa State has or every will have.

Why would you let a coach who has not had any positive results from a win loss standpoint hire the guy who is going to take over for him?
A) if he were fired, the guy he picked would not replace him.
B) If it's a coach in waiting and he isn't fired, he's got like 20 years left on his coaching career.

Re: A note on ISU's assistant coach search
The players are not going to stay around if the head coach does not change. Nick Nurse is not the answer we need. He been hired in Des Moines by his friends. It just keeps getting worst.

I would love to see Nick get Curtis to work out with Colvin. If Stinson could teach Chris that tear drop.... -
