Robinson
Quick question, if he is such as great recruiter and assitant coach and the program is screwed without him why would he be going to Houston?? You would think that all kinds of Division 1 schools would be after him. hmmm. Its amazing how you can say what a wonderful job these guys do recruiting and coaching and were screwed now but dont blame them for us losing too, its only Mac's fault??

Re: Robinson
I have a better question. If he isnt a good recruiter or good at something, why did McDermott hire him in the first place?

Chance to get off the sinking ship??? -
Re: Robinson
Easy answer is because he knows McDermott will not be around much longer.

It would be much harder for him to get a job after being fired. This is the "you can't fire me, I quit" situation.
And he isn't a "great" recruiter by any means. Simply one of the best on Mac's staff. Certainly not good enough to be at a BCS conference school.

Re: Robinson
I would say the Houston job would be pretty appealing. It's a solid program. To me there is too much emphasis placed on BCS schools in basketball. See, Butler, George Mason, UNI, St. Mary's, Gonzaga, and so on. Oh and Houston was once a huge Power.
No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference. ~Tommy Lasorda

If you don't want to read the link, it basically says he's working to hard to have Greg screw it up!

Re: Robinson Statement
It's interesting how he's catching the next train out of Ames but he tells the players he recruited that they need to stay in Ames.
