This kid showed some serious potential. Better off? Eh.

sigh.....anybody that is saying good riddance is an idiot. He was a freshman point guard. They are very rarely good their freshman years. You people that are supporting this are the reason that we are horrible.

Will all of you stop already!! GMAC is absolutely the best thing possible for ISU! IF we could just get these cry baby players out of school we are going to be sooo much better. That is what everyone does not understand.

    Lucca - Cry baby
    Ham - Cry Baby
CC - Cry Baby and Cancer
    Buckley - Cry Baby
MG - GMAC probably did not even file for another year of elig. becuase he is a Cry Baby
CB - GMAC wanted him out because he was a Cry Baby too!

Good Riddence to all of them! Long Live GMAC!!

    oh yeah -

All I can say is wow......and please send me some of whatever you are drinking or smoking!

We shall see what happens with Colvin. I am willing to put my money that wherever he goes, he will be a star within the next couple of years. Probably not WJ quality, but a star. Only time will tell. What will you say then?

There is one constant here in the ISU MBB program the last 4 years. Greg McDermott. Period. When you have players constantly leaving that have various backgrounds, levels of talent, personalities, etc.......and many of them cannot fit in at ISU.......you can't blame it on the players. You might be able to make an individual case on why each one may have had a problem, but at some point you have to look at what is constant in the program and maybe, just maybe realize that there could be a problem there.

GMac recruited all these players. So, what are you saying? He is not a smart enough coach to rectruit players that will actually want to play for him? Is that the problem? If that is the problem, then why do we want him as our coach here?

These players all came to ISU wanting to play here, wanting to be here, wanting to succeed, wanting to win. What happened? What one thing would they all have in common that would make them want to leave? You have to ask yourself that.

You'd think Syracuse could throw us some money for being their farm team then...

Chris Colvin Stats, News, Photos - Iowa State Cyclones - ESPN

Is it good when you are a point guard with more turnovers than assists? Is good when you are a point guard that shoots less than 30%? Is it good when you have to go to LaRon Dendy for free throw shooting advise? Is it good to play the position on the court where you most have to be a leader and your teammates despise you and you get suspended by the coach for insubordination?

I am as upset as anybody about losing Ham but losing Chris Colvin is a good thing.

What "great" recruits have we gotten that did not work out? Colvin, Taggert (albeit due to a coaching change), ...The rate of "failure" is probably roughly the same as it is at top programs.
We have had a lot of 3 star recruits do really well.

This is a very good choice on Colvin's part. Next year is a throw away year for ISU. It's too late in the recruiting period to hire a new coach, so unless our dream hire is available right now, we may as wait until next year to fire McD.

Not surprising. At least we can count on continuing to get national pub as the school from which another team's star player transferred from. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Colvin gone according to Fox Sports

It's been almost a week since this was 'announced' on this site...correct? This is old news.

Anyway, we will certainly see how good of a player he is and how big of a cancer he is perceived to be by where he transfers to. Will it be another school like Memphis, Syracuse, or LSU? If so it will be pretty hard to keep peddling the no talent and cancer lines.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
