One way for certain to improve our record next year
In the "Colvin gone..." thread, I noticed a little factoid that made me think of a sure-thing solution to ISU's woeful record over the last 4 years.
What do our records over the last 3 years all have in common?
15-16
15-17
15-17
That's right, boys and girls: they've all got 15 wins. Now, since contracting our schedule down to 15 games so that we could be undefeated would surely be too transparent to fool anyone, how about we contract down to 20 games? 15-5 is a 75% winning percentage, which will surely get us a ticket to the dance (especially if they increase the field to 96 next year).
Coach Mac has proven that he's able to consistently win 15 games during the course of a basketball season. Now, if the rest of us can help him out with the schedule, he'll be a National Coach of the Year candidate in no time.

I don't exactly consider your disapproval of my people skills to be a crushing indictment. Nice to see you again, croz. How about them Cubbies, eh? -

Concession sales would be down.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: One way for certain to improve our record next year
Not necessarily. Gyro carts in the parking lot around Hilton catering to basketball AND football tailgaters would help with concessions. Plus, we would have more open dates available to ice down the floor and have the ISU Hockey Club play epic home stands at Hilton again.
I can remember a few games back in the mid 90's when the Hockey team had the whole parquet filled with cheering fans. Come the MBB conference season next year, that COULD be a pretty darn rare sight.

We could just cancel the conference season and play non conference only.

Re: One way for certain to improve our record next year
Naw, that would be too obvious. We've got a play a FEW conference games. Say Texas or Kansas at home (hell, sometimes even a blind hog finds a few acorns - maybe we'll even WIN one of them), and home & aways with Nebraska and possibly Colorado.
During the rest of the conference season, we can just hide in our bedrooms with the lights out and refuse to come to the door. Then, after the opposing team leaves and their AD calls us to ask "Hey, why didn't your guys show up for the game last Wednesday night?", Jamie can just tell him "Oh crap. Did you guys go to Hilton for the game? My staff was supposed to get the message to you that we planned a big game event for State Gym. Oh well, I guess we'll just catch up next time you're in town again. Have a nice rest of the season!"
For the road games, we can hire LE to drive the team bus. Then, when we don't show up, Jamie can just throw up his hands and say "Hey, what can I do? The man finds it IMPOSSIBLE to pass up a party with college girls! We didn't get our guys out of that sorority house until 4am!"
Jamie's going to have to practice his baldfaced lying quite a bit to pull this one off, but I have faith that he'll do what needs to be done.

Croz you are TOTALLY missing cylent bob's name: it is a reference to Cy+Lent(pre-Easter)+and some dude named "Bob". a/k/a CyEaster Robert. Clearly there is no referene to 'silent'. Therefore; you should be telling him to be less easter bunny....just sayin'.

How about them Cubbies, eh? p.s. bob-may favorite exchange was with BojiHawks(really miss Brad) and what's his name...remember the 'hawk suck on a pedal' thread...may have been one of the funniest threads of all time on the web.

Five years ago? Has it been that long?
Wow, how time flies. How ya' been, JMB? I miss our discussions over at "The Site Formerly Owned by Loudmouthed Political Guy & the Flaming Trainwreck Party Candidate for Governor of Iowa".
Croz, are you still in school? Nothing wrong with eight years in college. PLENTY of people spend that much time in school.
Of course, at the end of the eight years, they get to make people refer to them as .....Doctor. But hey, whatever works for you.

Re: One way for certain to improve our record next year
You mean grayer? Dude, I lost his cell phone number when my phone took a dump a few years ago. He used to stop by our tailgates & talk ISU sports. He was a heckof a guy, but he DID totally throw BojiHawk a softball in that thread and in a few others. I wish I could figure out where he ended up & how he's doing. Nice kid.
And BojiHawk? That dude was pure 140-proof old school rival. Based on his team selection, he was apparently deprived of oxygen for 25 minutes or so sometime in his early childhood, but BOY was he fun to riff with during rivalry weeks.
