- I am hearing that Will Clyburn is a Utah lean at this point. Not looking good for the Clones. Hopefully something changes.

- As I've been saying since Sunday, I don't like Iowa State's chances with Andre Clark at this time.

- I can confirm that Iowa State has offered Bo Barnes.

- Jordan Railey will be visiting this weekend. He signed with the team today.

- I have a better feeling about John Wilkins and Iowa State than I did at the start of the day. Not guaranteeing anything though.

- I believe that the Clones have a legitimate shot at Oto Osenieks, a 6-9 power forward out of Brehm Prep in Illinois. He's been on campus before.

Would be great if we can sign Wilkins, Oto, and Barnes. HS and 3-yr JC inside players and a guard. Along with Railey would be a real solid spring.

With today's signing, I think we are up to 9 scholarship players for next season (DG, SC, JVB, CB, LD, AO, ME, DP and JR). How many scholarships do you think we will keep in the bank?

One of the biggest concerns I've voiced over the last 4 years has been McDermott's reckless use of scholarships. He's given scholarships to guys who should have never gotten them (guys like Brister, Vette, Mann and Pomlee). I could easily throw a few more names in there but you get the point. Every year GMac has used all 13 scholarships and every year we have mass defections. I really hope this is the year in which we bank at least 2 or 3 scholarships for a couple of reasons. First, these defections can't be helping our APR. More importantly, next season will most likely be a throw away season. We might be replacing our entire coaching staff, and even if McDermott doesn't go, he will have all new assistant coaches. I'd really like to see us bank several scholarships and give the new coaching staff a shot at filling out the roster in a more careful and hopefully successful manner.

So we are looking at possibly banking 0 scholarships for the 5th straight season. I guess we've been so successful with it before, why not try it again. and again. One of these times McDermott will strike gold! And while we're at it, let's go ahead and sign up all the available 2011 scholarships during the fall recruiting class. Might as well screw the next coaching staff while we're at it.

I realize these guys are committing to ISU and I'm grateful for that. Still why can't we see a little restraint from McDermott especially given the circumstances?

We are ALWAYS short handed at some point during the season. We never have enough players (scholarship worthy). We need to fill the roster every year with as many players as possible. We don't need to bank anything because we always have 2 open up unexpectedly. Find the best players we can and sign em.

I was thinking more along the lines of Odo. He's pretty shifty.
