I can't see his point. Early when McD had the depth they were running it more. The attrition they suffered forced him to slow down and shorten the game. I think that this excuse is as much bull **** as the others we have heard.Quote:

I agree. I seem to recall hearing we'd pick up the pace this year, but never really saw this. Well, I did in the early non-conference games. But, as our roster decimated, we went back to the old style of ball. And I can't imagine it's any fun to play that style AND rarely win...Quote:

While he was suspended mid-season and rightfully so from what we heard, McD did say something along the lines that Colvin responded exactly as McD had hoped he would to the suspension and that his attitude had improved.

I guess I heard it a little differently. He said HIS style of play did not fit McDermott's. I kind of take that to mean that maybe CC's was a little more loose, free-style....whatever, and it did not fit into a more structured system. Seems like he should have known that before he got here, or the coaches should have known that it would be a problem for him.
Does concern me a little that he said he was told it was going to be run-and-gun, and then it changed. If that is true, that is not going to help with future recruits. I wish they would have run a run-and-gun more often. Biggest problem was they could never rebound well enough to do that.
Don't know what else he could have said. Most of the good things were gone....closer to home, going pro, not enough playing time.......no one had used "style of play yet". Dendy and Oliver will probably not even give a reason.
Did Stinson or Blalock make 3's when they were running and gunning up and down the court???
Colvin is a huge, huge, huge loss---he will have a year to develop a shot when he redshirts and will be solid where ever he ends up at...Don't get ****** at the kid---this may be the best decision he ever made...

Bottom line, just another promising young player getting the hell out of town before his time. And I thought LE's rate of attrition was atrocious.
We don't need players to be choirboys. I could care less if they are complete thugs as long as they don't break the law and keep it together on the court. I seem to recall Jamaal "I shoot off my guns in clubs" Tinsley as being a decent citizen here.Quote:
