Irregardless of what happened, I am in the camp that believes that there was no reason to bring in BF's recruiting issues into an issue regarding GMac. I don't care if BF loses half of his players, he wins with the ones he has. If Pollard wanted to prove a point, he needed to show us another school that loses an average of 3-4 athletes a year over the past 4 years that has been successful. Until he does that, I am failing to see any correlation between BF losing women this year, and Gmac's complete inability to keep players.

I work multiple jobs to help pay to put myself through school, and the vast majority of people that I know in "this generation of kids" do the same thing. Now, if you mean people aren't as prone to letting themselves get run over by overbearing leaders/bosses/coaches, then maybe yes. Kids might expect a little bit more from their leaders now than in the past, but is that a bad thing? I would think that a lesson we've learned from our past, from things like corporal punishment in schools or not allowing kids to talk until they are spoken to, would be that some of these things needed to change. A lot of people making this argument claim that they want kids to be more independent, but then when players decide to transfer from Iowa State because they think they can do more for themselves somewhere else, that's not OK.
Life is short, and the chances to play basketball at a competitive level for these players are very limited. They have a short window to try and get better to prove themselves if they want to play professionally. Do I like our transfers? No. Do I like the reasons given for our transfers? No. But, do I think players have the right to transfer if they think it will improve their situation? Yes. You shouldn't have to suffer through something if it is preventable. Maybe they could have been more picky in choosing to come to ISU, yes. However, that doesn't change where they are now, and what that situation is, and you can't change the past. You can only live in the present. While you may be what you described above, you are incorrect IMO. Kids have a completely different idea of what work and respect are now. I am not saying you specifically, I am just saying in general. I knew way more people without jobs during college than I knew with them. I also saw a lot of things while there that made me about go crazy. There is a certain lack of respect in this generation. There is a lack of understanding of what it means to work for what you get. I knew a couple people who could never go out or do anything because they never had any money. They would rather be broke than get a part time job and have fun. My guess is that I was raised significantly differently than the majority of my generation but I was always amazed at what some people considered to be hard work and dedication. It just isn't the same now.

Maybe not but he did not call BF out or even indicate he was a poor coach. I believe his intent was to point out BF has been successful without holding on to every single player. People will make it what they want though to make JP look bad so I am probably wasting my time here.

Another low class move by an AD who has a big ego and no big time experience.
Pollard has no class. Finnelly should be bothered.

Look at the Directors Cup, Our Football, WBB, Volleyball, and wrestling program. Then I encourage you to look at the our budget compared to when he got here. Those numbers alone do not do justice. He has also cut the State funding for the AD therefor increasing donations and such more than actually shown by pure budget numbers. You are wrong here without a doubt. You can continue to do this if you like but I will continue to correct your garbage.
I would dismiss this as a typo however "I" and "E" are nowhere near each other. I question you knowledge on ISU athletics because of this. Paired with your ignorance on what JP has done, I would classify you as a troll.

If McDermott was even in the least bit successful, then this transfer problem wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, that's just not true. I don't know if he threw BF under the bus, but it's certainly not a fair comparison between the programs.

Re: Rumors of other Transfers?
I think the whole point that JP was making in bringing up BF is that the trend in all of college basketball seems to be that many players will only be on teams temporarily. If they are too good they go pro. And they can transfer for any apparent reason.
