Just saying, this is tough to spin from a Creighton perspective. I am surprised he etched out another 9 year contract. It must have been greg's idea all along to sign decade long contracts.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Bad hire = worse/same
Good hire = better

He took a step down in competition in order to ensure that he would have a job next year. That is more a sign that he wasn't getting it done here than ISU being a bad job.
Pollard caught lightning in a bottle with his second football HC hire. Let's hope he achieve something similar for MBB.

I am also surprised given his "success" at ISU that they would give him such a long contract. Seems odd to me. I guess they would rather have mediocrity for several years than get one upped in the near future.

NONSENSE. This is a guy running out of town ahead of torches and pitchforks, plain and simple.

And you wonder why sports columnist and sports commentators feel free to rip ISU every chance they get.
What a crazy fanbase.
So.....you are concerned that radio personalities from a local station are going to spread a national smear campaign to hurt the reputation of ISU. The same personalities that have been saying GM should have been fired over 5 weeks ago. In addition, this bad press is going to go viral and have an impact on ISU basketball for years to come?
Am I understanding that correctly? That you are more concerned about the perception of ISU, than that of them putting back together a winning program.... Lifetime Achievement- In on page 1 of a THujone MS Paint thread. -

Re: The program would get worse
I think everyone will see this for what it is. People realize he is getting out of town before the posse gets to him.
If for no other reason, this is a great thing financially. We no longer have to pay him the millions of dollars we would owe him if we fired him. I think JP wanted him gone and couldn't front the money. Luckily my new favorite mid-major school did it for him.

Re: The program would get worse
Is there a buy-out to his contract? Even if there isn't a buy-out Iowa State will come out ahead by not having to pay the 2 million to get rid of GMac! This is a very good thing if this ACTUALLY happens!

Re: The program would get worse
Not sure how this isn't a good move in the long run.
We couldn't afford to break off our lame duck coach, and Creighton steps up and solves the problem. Thus changing my favorite college programs too:
1. ISU
2. Creighton
3. Auburn
