Its funny that eveyrone wants him gone. Then...
we get him to leave, and there are statements about him being like his players by jumping ship. We wanted him out, hes leaving, and we dont have to pay... what part of that is a bad deal?

Re: Its funny that eveyrone wants him gone. Then...
Those are cyclone fans...everything is always negative. People just want something to complain about.

Fire up the JP plane tracker radar, please. We have to be ready. C U Later did it in 24 hours. We can too.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Nothing, this borders on miracle .

Re: Its funny that eveyrone wants him gone. Then...
Some people get a payoff from complaining about everything.

Re: Its funny that eveyrone wants him gone. Then...
I don't see the bad part. But there's a minority of the fanbase who hate on pollard as if in a cult. They will just turn the full force of their hate back on JP no matter what. Mac was just a nice diversion for them.

Not only do we not have to pay, but Creighton owes us $800K now. I agree with your statement. This is a big stroke of luck and we should appreciate it for what it is. He's gone, which is what 99% of the fan base wanted, now let's go get someone like Paul Rhoads.

There was also a minority that wanted to keep him around. Personally, I couldn't be more excited.

Can't confirm...but I believe isu plane is not listed by request now.

It sucks that it might possibly screw over a cyclone legend and could lose our recruits, but IMO its a great thing that hes leaving time to start building for the future.

Cm'n gang. Think CPR! We cvan motivate our remaining players to be better than they ever have been. We just need some locker room speeches and some hoopla. We can do this. We can win 15 again.

This will be a good thing for us. Some are concerned that our depleted roster could be more depleted, and that could happen (but not a guarantee).
All of us are shocked by the timing.

Re: Its funny that eveyrone wants him gone. Then...
I'm happy he's leaving, but there is a valid point that some are making that if Pollard is showing Mac faith by giving him time (possibly til the end of his contract), then surely Mac should try to win until he is fired.
I don't believe this, but that's the point.

Re: Its funny that eveyrone wants him gone. Then...
The only thing I could ask for is that it happened a few weeks ago.
Otherwise, this is the best for all. Mac comes out ahead. I don't know if ISU will come out ahead just yet, but at least we have reason to look forward to next season. Would like to believe it can't be worse.
Only person that I'm genuinely concerned for is Grayer. This is a life-long dream for the man, then two days later, he's back in flux.

Re: Its funny that eveyrone wants him gone. Then...
Anyone who complains about this is crazy. McDermott taking another job financially got us off a really, really sharp hook, and even gave us a bonus. You couldn't ask for a better situation in terms of ending up with a different coach.
Now, I know overall (forgetting that most of us wanted him gone) it does seem a little weak for him to leave on his own by taking another job.. but at least he was here for 4 years. It's not like he was specifically trying to bail out on us after a year or two. He tried, he did his time.. and at this point, he's been so thoroughly abused online and everywhere else for less than stellar results, that this is probably the best move for both parties. He gets a clean slate after a disaster of an off-season, and heads somewhere where the fanbase will give him a shot and won't be down his throat just yet -- and if he's successful, he'll have something positive to add to his coaching resume after a tough 4 years.
For us, like I said, we're financially off the hook, and we get a chance to move on after losing almost our entire team to transfers even before he left, and not getting almost ANY recruits.
