Timeline to name a new coach?

I'd like to see a new coach named yet this week. Needs to be done quickly IMO.

I would assume ASAP so he can Lock down the recruits and cover up any players leaving asap

Has Colvin officially been released from the Program, with the new coach coming in can he come back?
THat would be nice if true...
I would say within the week a hire will be made either on Thursday or Friday would be my guess

I would think JP should take whatever time he needs...this is an important hire! Football was important obviously...but even JP has stated the importance of having a winning MBB program at ISU! He best not rush this hire simply for the purpose of having a coach in place...needs to be the right coach!

I hope it is done quickly but not at the expense of making the wrong choice. Hopefully a strong candidate shows himself early on.

With the situation that our team is in, quite frankly I don't see how waiting another couple of weeks would really make that much of a difference.

Looks like Mike Brey is out at ND as well, rumor is he had an affair with someone and is being forced out. So there will be another BCS job available.

Why should the new hire happen quickly? It's not like there is any real rush. Let it take all summer--what's the difference? It's not like it will matter in the win-loss column next year.

I wonder if there is empirical evidence that it takes longer to hire the "right" coach than it does to hire the "wrong" coach?

However long it takes to get the right guy. If thats a couple weeks, fine, if thats half an hour, fine. We rushed to lock down McD, and look where that got us. We hired LE in almost August.

LE was not a coaching search. It was planned and was known and announced pretty much when Floyd left for the Bulls. Apples and oranges

Well Creighton took about a day so I guess that could be empirical evidence to suggest waiting is a good idea. A knee jerk reaction isn't what we need, but once the job posting wait period is up I would think we'd start to hear names.
