WOI ABC5 story on Mac with interviews

On the video player at the top right. There are a few other clips below that as well. John has some good info in his story.

After watching that I'm just wondering what most people are thinking with John Walters throwing out the name Fran Frachilla.

Re: WOI ABC5 story on Mac with interviews
John's interview today with Chris was pretty interesting....I just got finished listening.
I don't think this is a good day for Iowa State, but it is probably not a bad one either. But it does pretty much suck that we had a coach in place that was the perfect fit---and it just didn't work. Man, I just wanted it to work with Greg so badly.
Sometimes I think that we are just presented with opportunties in life that are just crazy. Think about Theresa McDermott---she was facing missing a big chunk of her husband's games because she was going to be at her son's games. Talk about a tough time. Now she gets to watch both.

My wife misses almost 100% of my appointments with my clients. She always has to choose between our kids and sitting outside our conference room(at office) and cheering me on. -

That's interesting about Fran Frachilla. I've noticed that every time he's been the color guy at a game in Ames, he's been overly complimentary of Hilton Magic and the fans. I always thought he would be an interesting choice to coach here. I'm excited that Walters brought his name up.

I only want Fran, if Ron Franklin can also be on staff. When Prepared, Fear No One. -
Re: WOI ABC5 story on Mac with interviews
I agree. It is good to have new, unique names pop up. I don't think we should sell ourselves short on who we go for. It is time to make a solid, unique pick like we did when we recruited Orr to come to ISU. Another name to consider....Rick Majerus. Since he's gotten back into coaching, he's been very successful at St. Louis. I think it would be fun to see another character in Ames to give Hilton Magic a boost. Sure, he's not young and has had some health issues, but just another name that hasn't been circulated on everyone's short lists (that I've heard).

Really found Greg's comments on JP interesting. Seemed like some heartfelt comments that were really positive.

It might have worked if he had brought Ben with him.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I really don't think he was that far from having it work without Ben. We were close.

It could be said that Mike Taylor would have meant five more wins in year two, and that Wesley could have meant at least five more wins in years three and four. But, it's neither here nor there, since Greg played the contributing factor into why neither were here in those seasons...
In Fred, we trust!! Go Cyclones!
