Couple of quotes that made me laugh

Greg - I did a lot of good things to improve the program!

Gary - The program wasn't going to win anyway and you beat the posse. haha.

I'm sure that Greg was referring to the practice facility and hilton improvements that Jamie made while he was the coach.

The APR issue is much, much better and won't handcuff the next coach coming in. GMac will encourage his players to stay as well so the next coach won't be completely starting over. Other than that, no imrpovements.

The fact that Gary was plain with his assessment of the program's progress was very telling to me. That really convinced me that Greg beat the posse out of town, and was probably fortunate that donors just weren't financially convinced to spend the money. If Gary is saying stuff like that, and he's a pretty positive guy (at least in the public stuff, which is all I see of him), then he was pretty much down with Mac as the coach.

And the recruits. McKnight is staying and the other recruits have been encouraged to stay as well. No matter how you spin it, that is better than when GMac arrived. Particularly the APR issue.

I'm not a fan of kicking a man while he's down and on his way out the door. I like Mac, I REALLY wanted him to succeed here because I honestly feel he is still a good coach and he runs a kind of program that we could be proud of, but for some reason it just wasn't meant to be. I think this worked out well for everyone involved except for UNI losing Doug's commitment so why kick Mac more? People here got what they wanted and on top of that we got an extra $800K to boot instead of having to buy him out. Can't you just be glad with that?

Love Gary, straightforward & no B.S. Gregg - get a life, stop spinning your performance at ISU. You didnt have a winning record in four yrs, you couldnt keep players, your recruiting was never in the top half of the b-12 and you didnt motivate your players. And you're pleased with where you brought the program?
Is there a shrink in the audience?

Geezaloo, hes not spinning. He's keeping a professional tone on his way out. Everyone would do it that didnt want to burn a bridge. Let it go, he isnt selling anything at this point.
