After watching the Hoiberg conference, I'm convinced it was the right move by Pollard. While he may lack the coaching abilities right now, as long as he hires solid assistants, he should be golden.
With Hoiberg at ISU, and McCaffery at Iowa, we could FINALLY be seeing a return to exciting college basketball in the state.
Fred and Fran are going to make winters exciting in Iowa again.
And apparently I can't spell. Can a mod please fix that?

I was on board with the conference til he had to remind me of the 51 he dropped on us in 91 substate...
I loved his comment on style of play. Yes we want to play up tempo basketball and get easy transition baskets but some games we will have to slow it down and grind it out when we need to. I would say that he has the ingredients to help make a risky hire like this work, but we'll have to see how it plays out. I'm still not excited about this hire, but so far Hoiberg and Pollard are saying all the right things.
