    Hoiberg Name Dropping

If this was talked about or another topic on it sorry and merge if needed. Just so much about the hire today hard to get through it all.

Fred has played for some great coaches, some of the best of all time and played with great players. Being around those guys is pricesless and something very few college coaches have had the chance to do.

    Orr
    Floyd
    Brown
    Bird
    Saunders
    McHale

    Riggie Miller and cast
    Kevin Garnett
    just to name a few

They say a move like this has never really worked out, but with his contacts, college games watched as a scout, and experence in the front office it will make this much easier.

Didn't he say he had every head coach in the NBA on speed-dial?

    Priceless!
I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.

He said every GM was on speed dial. Great line, and great recruiting tool.

Sounds like it's working out okay...

In his first season at the helm of the NC State program, Lowe became just the third Wolfpack coach, after Everett Case and Press Maravich, to win 20 games in his first season and to defeat the other three North Carolina institutions in the ACC (Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest) in his first year as head coach. He is one of only four NC State coaches to have coached in the ACC Championship game in their first year.
