Thought about opening music next year.
Alright so maybe this is just me counting chickens really early but who knows. I love music and in general I actually sorta like opening music after the Fight song. But I had a brief thought about a song for at least the first game at Hilton next year. So I had 2 thoughts. Either "Welcome Home" by Coheed and Cambria or "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" by Metallica. Personally I would want to hear "Welcome Home" from Coheed. However, I would like to think i'm not the only one who thinks about things like this. What would you all want to hear in terms of a song to hear (if anything at all) for next year?

I'd like something that could become a permanent (or at least a few years of sticking around) opening song. Anything "welcome home" related is going to fall by the wayside once the newness of having The Mayor back wears off. Lately I've been thinking "Blue Orchid" by The White Stripes would be a kick-*** opening video song.

I agree that anything "Welcome Home" related would fall by the wayside, however, I admit that I would love to hear it at hilton for the first game. Having another song to last a while after that would be quite nice as well, I just want it to get me pumped for the game.

I for one am hoping Mr. Hoiberg has learned enough from Orr and being in the NBA to put some show back into Hilton. I liked Mac, but boy was he just dreary and uninspiring. I want a coach who can light up the crowd just as much as the players.

In my mind it has to be Thunderstruck. Just makes so much sense. Awesome intro, appeals to large group of people, has a catchy chant, builds to a crescendo and more importantly it is weather related. Get it Thunder, Cyclones. Perfect.
Would love to see them use the music video and incorporate scenes of the Hilton crowd in place of crowd scenes in the video. Maybe even live shots of the crowd. Also include shots of current players standing around in front of a video board showing the past highlights in place of some of the stage shots. The first "Thunder" would flash "I" then "State". The second. Freds face then Grayers. The third a couple shots of the team.
I think it would really get the crowd jacked up. For those old foggies and younguns here's the video.

If you're going the "back" route, might as well just have Hoiberg come out to JT's Sexy Back. maybe he can dance some too.

B) Every school uses Thunderstruck, it's good, it's just not that original.

I should add the first "Thunderstruck" highlight has to be Fizer owning Mihm.

Can't you just picture MoreCowbell throwing her panties onto the court if this went down?
