Josh Oglesby (CR Wash) visits Minn yesterday
Sid Hartman mentioned today that the 6'5" Oglesby visited Tubby and Minnesota. I sure hope Hoiberg makes a difference in getting this guy: Josh Oglesby, an outstanding junior basketball player from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, visited the Gophers campus on Thursday. Oglesby is playing for the AAU Iowa Barnstormers.

I think we should get him, I saw him play at the state tourny vs. Ames and man can he shoot. If he gets a little room its pretty much automatic. If he was on our team right now, I think he would probably be our best pure shooter.

Kinda of off topic here but what kind of relationship do you think Jake Sullivan has with Fred?

Re: Josh Oglesby (CR Wash) visits Minn yesterday
Do either of these players have Big 12 athletic ability? I'm tired of showing up at the gate riding a mule while everybody else (Big 12) is on a horse named Secretariat, Seattle Slew or Affirmed.

Uthoff is visiting Indiana, Butler, Notre Dame and Illinois the last few days. He had been talking about committing real soon, but hope he puts that on hold and can give Fred a chance. There's not alot coaches can do as far as recruiting them right now unless they come on campus, so I hope he makes it over to Ames soon and talks to Fred.

Oglesby is playing for the AAU Iowa Barnstormers. As someone who has seen Oglesby play many, many times, I don't want him on my team. If you thought Colvin had an attitude problem, he has nothing on this kid. And it is perplexing because his dad used to be the coach at Kirkwood and is a class act, by all accounts. There was an incident this year between Oglesby and an opposing coach after a game. Without going into detail, I'll sum it up in two words so you get the picture: Bret Bielema.
Is it possible he could grow up and straighten out? Absolutely. But I don't think his talent level is high enough to make him worth the risk.
