In state recruiting
How long before Iowa negative recruits against ISU based on the iffy conference situation? I'd play that card all day long if I was Fran. "Do you want to play in the Big 10 or the Mountain West, son?"
I suppose I just helped him out.

Re: In state recruiting
ISU will be in the Big 12, it may just look like a different conference than it is now. All the ISU staff has to say is do you really want to play for a coach that will only be there for 3 years.

Re: In state recruiting
For basketball, if the Big XII only loses Nebraska and Missouri, will it really matter?

I suppose I just helped him out. Even if that did happen, RPI Ranking for 2009-2010 as of 3/10/2010:
#5 Big 10
#6 Mountain West (ended tournament at 8)

Re: In state recruiting
It's pretty hard to do that based on pure speculation. Memphis isn't excactly in a power conference, and we have no idea what the Big East will look like in 5 years. Iowa State could turn right around and say yeah Iowa may be in the Big ten but they are the doormat.

Re: In state recruiting
I doubt recruits stay up on the possibilities of conference realignment.

I suppose I just helped him out. ISR: I don't know, Coach Hoiberg. They do play in the Big Ten.
CH: **** the Big Ten. They play boring *** basketball, and unless it's Michigan State, suck **** against the rest of the country. Again, I say...**** the Big Ten.
ISR: You're right, Coach. What color pen should I use.

Re: In state recruiting
How long until Iowa State starts negative recruiting against Iowa with "Would you rather feel like you're playing basketball in a library at Iowa, or play in front of a ruckus crowd at Hilton for Iowa State?"
I'll take a Jack & Hilton -
Re: In state recruiting
CH: Oh yeah, look at this sweet *** practice facility, look at Hilton, hear the crowd, feel the passion in that place. What's over there in Iowa City? An empty dungeon. The fans don't give a **** about basketball over there, and you Son don't play football.

Re: In state recruiting
Basketball is different than football. There are schools out there that have made their athletic department based off of basketball in smaller conferences. Just off the top of my head, Gonzaga, Xavier, Memphis and before they joined the big east, Louisville and Cincinnati. The difference between the two is the BCS.
