That to me was a problem under McDermott - he used those schollies and then found out someone couldnt play....i would rather bank it and move ahead knowing you have schollies for 2011 or sign jucos so those schollies are open for the ultra talented 2012 class.
Not entirely fair. FH will essentially have a pass for certain in year 1, and probably year 2. Maybe even year 3. But if we're in a similar situation in year 3,4,5 with scholarships open and not a lot of wins -- then I expect FH will feel more pressure to do anything possible -- including risky late recruits -- just to give the fans the hope of a couple more wins.

I think Orr got some pretty sweet pay upgrades as he went along ... but the initial base salary is an eye-opener in the current context.
Plus he had a hot tub in Ames. He used to mention that a lot when talking about why he came to Ames.

A few tibits from the article:

No wonder TJ stayed...$1 million guaranteed.

And it sounds like he is close to filling out his staff.

I can not see TJ staying 5 years. He is a very good recruiter and those guys usually are the ones to get a chance at their own mid major job. There is a reason He wanted the title of Assistant head coach. Hopefully the mayor will get more experience before he leaves.

what do you mean? gas is cheaper than water. I can't believe the amount of people that will pay 3 dollars for 20 oz of bottled water.

If they pay that much for water I think they already have.

More like $1.25/gal for gas and $0.85/gal of milk. The days of 25 cent gas and 50 cent milk are from my early childhood, circa 1960.
