Re: 2009-2010 Basketball Attendance Numbers
This would be interesting to compare with ticket prices around the country.

Very impressive, considering how bad we've been. We should be in the
top 15 next year:yes:
fixed it for ya
Re: 2009-2010 Basketball Attendance Numbers
#26 in the nation at 12,491 is a great recruiting tool. Way to go Cyclone fans!!!
Re: 2009-2010 Basketball Attendance Numbers
How can our rabid ticket-buying not be a huge selling point???
With the anticipated uptick in sales (and actual attendance next year), has anyone else pictured guys on their recruiting visit seeing a packed house for a .500 team, a packed house going crazy (especially when the coach is announced), and Coach Hoiberg talking later to that young man and pointing out that this is how ISU treats their guys. Maybe after pointing to that number hanging up in the rafters.

Where does Duke rank? Doesn't "Cameron Indoor Stadium" seat something like 30,000 per game? I figured they'd be number one.

I hope this is a :jimlad:, because Cameron is tiny, it's capacity is less than what Hilton averaged.

And the obsession with Iowa goes on and on and on and on..... Why must they be included the few teams highlighted on this post? Anyone that followed college basketball in the state of Iowa knew that the university of iowa did not have good attendance this past season. But yet, they are brought up again due to the obsession that will go on forever and ever and ever

UNI & Creighton were included too. Maybe your fixation on the uofi data suggets something?

I included all Big 12 teams, all in-state teams in the top 100, UK since they are #1, and CU since that's where Mac left for (and because I'm a Jays fan). If Drake had been in the top 100, I would have included them too. I did not include Iowa due to some obsession you think I have with them.

Some schools, like Mizzou, actually do measure the folks that go to the games. Most do tickets sold. The table should actually be labeled "TICKETS SOLD WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW SCHOOLS WHO DO MEASURE ACTUAL ATTENDANCE" if we want to get picky.
Re: 2009-2010 Basketball Attendance Numbers
I had no idea Tennessee's venue was so big. Thats really good attendance....I wonder where there attendance was before Bruce arrived.

This has to be based on tickets SOLD and not seats filled (it's the NCAA so it does't surprise me they don't know the difference) as there is no way Iowa averaged over 6k seats filled per game. . . Never seen an arena so empty (game after game) at this level of competition.

Its true that its sales, not attendance. His point still stands that its amazing how much there sales have dropped, considering alot of season ticket holders re-up to keep there seats.
