And are seven feet tall. He's good enough for Kansas. No doubt. If he is a 7 foot sophomore he is huge. IGotThis simply either doesn't know or is completely looking over the fact he has two years of high school left. Not many juniors in high school are ready for college.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

Re: Adam woodbury?
I know this is a bit off topic, but after getting back from the King of Courts tournament in Ankeny. I was wondering if anyone on here has any thoughts on another 7ft sophomore by the name of Mading Thok. He was playing for Martin Brothers (went to watch Marcus Paige)

Has a very long wingspan & looks to have lots of upside. I thought he had more range then Woodbury but thats just b/c he looked very smooth dropping about a 15 ft jumper. He definitely changed things inside on the defensive end. I heard he was at a prep school in Nebraska last year but planning on transferring to a small school here in Iowa somewhere.

Re: Adam woodbury?
Also I wasnt too impressed with Woodbury. He was 6 inches to a foot taller than anybody on the floor for the other team & played very soft. Missed lots of bunnies & put backs. I understand he's young & you can't coach 7 ft but he is definitely a project. Hopefully he puts in the necessary work to get to where he need to be to be a big time recruit. I will note that they were blowing out the team they were playing so maybe his aggressiveness wasn't up to snuff b/c of that but he should have still done more than he did.

Re: Adam woodbury?
I think it could be said that AAU games are not where 7-foot, back-to-the-basket players show their true value.

I think that most college scouts would recruit these large tournaments where the athletes would go against other talented players. Would you rather watch Adam Woodbury play against Des Moines metro teams or against teams that are full of players that have potential to play at the next level.

There is a reason why there is AAU besides all the money...it's to help college coaches see who is a good player from a great player....
And if you are implying because some of the time it is streetball then you are making my point in that he can't handle that system well. -

This is exactly what I got when I saw him in person...so I don't get all the hype..though he did tear it up against 4A teams...
Also where are you getting that he's 7'0" tall at?...in the state program he's listed at 6'9"....unless they lied about his height you need to get that fact straigt first. -

No doubt AAU is where players get exposure and it is vital to recruiting.
To answer your question, I would rather watch Woodbury playing with top players in a system and game that resembles how he will be used in college..without either component it is speculation.
Do college coaches determine a players defensive talent from a pick-up game/AAU game?
To further explain my point, the combined stat line for the centers of the 2007 McDonald's All-American game was 15 points and 10 rebounds. I think Cole Aldrich turned out pretty well, and Koufos was drafted in the first round.

Well a guy at the tourney said the Thok kid from Nebraska was 6'11" and Woodbury was taller than he was. Plus I thought I read on here that he was 7' but could be wrong.

I wouldn't actually know that but I don't know why they would list him at that.
