Coach Orr
Johnnys oldest daughter Robin passed away last night from a ALS. If you could keep the old coach and his family in your thoughts.

Re: Coach Orr
Thoughts and prayers. Horrible, horrible disease. Had a few friends who've suffered from it.
Been a miserable week for this type of stuff.
Doesn't Coach's wife have Altheimers too?

Doesn't Coach's wife have Altheimers too? It's Alzheimer's. Yes, she does.
Thoughts to the Orr family.

Doesn't Coach's wife have Altheimers too? I might have misunderstood your post, but ALS and Alzheimers are not the same thing. Both are horrible, but very different. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Might be because my mother passed away from ALS, but my opinion is that there is not much worse than that disease.

I think ALS is Lou Gehrig's disease? I could be wrong though.

That's why I heard. I'll admit I was in tears when I finished "Tuesdays with Maurrie."

Re: Coach Orr
Coach's wife Romie has been in a battle with Alzheimer's disease. She also had a broken hip and then physical therapy last winter. Marc Hansen had a good story in the Register last year...can't find the link. -
Re: Coach Orr
What I was asking was that in addition to his daughter having ALS, doesn't his wife also have Alzheimers? (Answer being yes)
Well aware it's not the same. Rather that those are two horrible (prolonged) diseases and a mountain for a single family to handle at the same time.
